WORKING MECHANISM OF IQAC – PHARMACY INSTITUTION

Objective

To facilitate continuous improvement, technological advancement, and innovation in educational methodologies for achieving excellence in pharmaceutical education, research, and administration.

1. Facilitation of Technological Advancement and Innovation

  • Promote the adoption of modern pedagogical tools, digital learning platforms, and virtual laboratories for effective teaching-learning in pharmacy.
  • Encourage faculty to use ICT-enabled teaching, simulation-based learning, and pharmacological software tools.
  • Conduct faculty development programs on innovations in drug delivery, formulation technologies, and regulatory updates.

2. Definition of Parameters for Academic and Administrative Activities

  • Establish clear quality benchmarks for:
    • Curriculum design and delivery
    • Laboratory practices and safety
    • Research output and publications
    • Student mentoring and progression
    • Administrative efficiency and transparency
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for smooth and transparent operation of all academic and administrative functions.

3. Dissemination of Information

  • Regularly communicate quality assurance policies, best practices, and performance indicators to faculty, students, and stakeholders through:
    • College website
    • IQAC circulars and newsletters
    • Academic council and staff meetings
    • Student orientation and mentoring programs

4. Coordination with Departments

  • IQAC to work closely with Heads of Departments to:
    • Define Quality Indicators (QIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for teaching and research faculty.
    • Enhance the Teaching-Learning Process (TLP) through innovative methods such as flipped classrooms, case-based learning, and problem-based learning in pharmaceutical sciences.

5. Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA)

  • Conduct AAA biannually to review:
    • Curriculum implementation
    • Research and consultancy activities
    • Student performance and outcomes
    • Administrative and financial procedures
  • Prepare action taken reports (ATR) and follow-up measures for continuous improvement.

6. Meetings

  • IQAC shall convene meetings at least twice a year or more frequently as required.
  • Maintain minutes of meetings and document action plans, implementation, and outcomes.

9. Documentation and Record Maintenance

  • Maintain digital records of:

10. Outcome and Review

  • Annual submission of AQAR (Annual Quality Assurance Report) to NAAC.
  • Review of institutional performance indicators such as:
    • Student results and placements

    • Collaborations and societal outreach
  • Identification of areas for improvement and implementation of corrective measures.
