Functions of IQAC

Mother Theresa Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (MIPER)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of MIPER is committed to sustaining and enhancing the quality of pharmacy education, research, and professional training in alignment with national and international standards. Its functions are as follows:

1. Development and Application of Quality Benchmarks:

Formulates and applies quality parameters for various academic, research, and administrative activities in pharmacy education to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and institutional governance.

2. Promotion of Learner-Centric Environment:

Facilitates the creation of a student-centered learning environment that nurtures innovation, problem-solving, and critical thinking, while enabling faculty to adopt advanced pharmaceutical technologies and pedagogical methods for participatory teaching-learning.

3. Feedback Collection and Analysis:

Arranges for systematic collection of feedback from students, parents, alumni, employers, and industry experts regarding institutional processes, curriculum relevance, and teaching effectiveness, ensuring continuous quality enhancement.

4. Dissemination of Quality Information:

Ensures regular dissemination of information related to pharmacy education quality standards, research ethics, and institutional best practices through meetings, circulars, and the institutional website.

5. Organization of Quality-Oriented Programs:

Organizes inter and intra-institutional workshops, seminars, and faculty development programs on quality-related themes such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), research ethics, and pharmaceutical innovations.

6. Documentation of Quality Initiatives:

Systematically documents all academic, co-curricular, and research activities that contribute to quality enhancement and professional excellence in pharmacy education.

7. Nodal Agency for Quality Activities:

Acts as the central coordinating unit for all quality-related initiatives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among departments, committees, and external agencies like NAAC, PCI, AICTE, and UGC.

8. Institutional Database Management:

Develops and maintains an Institutional Database through Management Information System (MIS) to store and analyse academic, research, and administrative data for quality monitoring and strategic planning.

9. Promotion of Quality Culture:

Promotes a culture of quality, ethics, and professionalism among students, faculty, and staff by encouraging participation in research, community pharmacy services, and healthcare extension activities.

10. Preparation of AQAR:

Prepares and submits the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC, highlighting the institution’s achievements, innovations, and continuous improvement initiatives in line with pharmacy education standards.
